About the Women’s Retreat

How far away is Menucha, the retreat location? And what’s it like?

Menucha is just 45 minutes from WHUUF, atop the south ridge of the beautiful Columbia River gorge. There’s a pond, lovely trees, paths, a labyrinth, and incredible views! See menucha.org for more info.

What kind of activities will be offered?

So many fun things! We start on Friday night with a welcoming ceremony. Saturday we have workshops and more! Sunday morning we’ll have a short service and wrap up. 

Is there free time?

Yes! Menucha’s grounds and the view are so beautiful, we know you’ll want to explore. And please keep in mind that the retreat is YOUR time! You should feel free to nap, read, go for a walk, socialize, or do whatever will feel nourishing for you.

Can my dietary issues be accommodated?

Almost certainly. Menucha has great food and offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, among others. Go to Menucha’s Alternate Dietary Request page for info or to request a special diet.

Who can attend?

Anyone who identifies as a woman or femme is welcome.

What are the sleeping arrangements like?

Menucha has several buildings, some with multiple floors. Downstairs rooms tend to be small and have their own bathrooms. Upstairs rooms are typically larger with bunks, and some private and some adjoining bathrooms. There will be a room upstairs dedicated to those who snore.  

I want to help! How can I volunteer?

We’re so glad you asked! If you want to get involved now, you can join the retreat committee and help shape the event! And we’ll need all kinds of help at the event itself. You might staff the registration table, help serve a meal or two, facilitate a small group discussion, take pictures, or help with setup and/or teardown. Contact  womensretreat@whuuf.org
