In-person Sunday Morning Coffee
Please join us after Sunday service downstairs in the Coffee Room for some coffee, conversation, and community. There’s also tea or water and, when available, we love to offer treats. So if you can, please occasionally bring goodies to share!
Online Sunday Morning Coffee
On Sundays we also have an online gathering after the service. As always, the URL is: https://uuma.zoom.us/j/98833899464
Minister’s Office Hours
Have a question about being UU? Curious about what shared ministry means? Need to talk about a tough issue and get some loving support? Rev. Tracy is keeping regular office hours on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Any WHUUFer is welcome to make an appointment on Calendly.
Unitarian Universalist Spiritual Practice Resources
If you are interested in finding spiritual practice that speaks to your theology, interests, and time commitments, check out these resources on WHUUF’s library resource page: UU Spiritual Practices.
WHUUF’s Library Resource Page is a great place to find resources to explore more deeply what we discuss at WHUUF. This includes the Time for All Ages books, Buddhism, racism and oppression, permaculture, and more. Check it out!
Want all the latest? Sign up for the E-Blast!
We have a weekly email newsletter—the E-Blast—that goes out every Monday. If you don’t receive it and would like to, please email admin@whuuf.org
Hard of hearing? We have tools that can help!
We have two Audio Assist aids that are connected directly to our AV tools and that can help you hear more of each service! If you’re interested, check in with Jim (in the back corner at the big audio console) before service to get set up with a system.
WHUUF is on Facebook!
Click on “West Hills Unitarian Universalist Fellowship – WHUUF” and “like” us! You’ll find photos, links to online Sunday services, and more posted there.
We also have a Facebook group called “West Hills UU Community Connections” where you can share memes, insights, recipes, etc. It’s a closed group, so we’ll need to approve your entry.
Worried About the Weather and Whether We’ll Have Services?
In case of inclement weather and church closure, we’ll post the information in several places:
- An Emergency E-Blast will go out.
- Our webpage will post a message.
- Our WHUUF Facebook page will post the closure.
Caring for each other at WHUUF ~ The CareNet Program
Part of what we do as a community is look out for each other. We all need a little help now and then. Sometimes it is as simple as a ride to WHUUF. Sometimes it is as complex as helping you though a difficult life transition, like divorce or the death of a loved one. Here at WHUUF, we will do our best to be there for our members when you need us through the CareNet program. CareNet team members can be contacted through the office.
The program includes:
~ CareNet Communicators– You have a need and you don’t know who to reach out to? Perhaps you want to let the community of WHUUF know it is time to swing into action with food, visits, a helping hand, or good wishes. We have a rotating team of CareNet Communicators. The best way to get in touch with them is to email carenet@whuuf.org.
~ Touchpoint Referrals– Sometimes you need the help of professionals. We have social worker volunteers who can advise WHUUF community members how to access the help they need from local agencies and counselors, incuding resources for elders. Contact the church office at admin at whuuf.org to be put in touch with our volunteers.
~ Conflict Resolution – Interpersonal conflicts can pull the energy from our Fellowship and keep us from working well together. A member who is a psychologist volunteers to help facilitate meetings between folks at WHUUF who are in conflict with each other. A retired Family Specialist can also help with this kind of mediation. Contact either carenet@whuuf.org or admin@whuuf.org to be put in touch with our mediation team.
~ Elder Ministry – We like to keep an eye on our honored elders, providing transportation and extra help when needed.
CareNet Seeking Volunteer Drivers
CareNet is seeking volunteers to be on our list of available drivers for members in need of rides to medical appointments and such. If you are interested in being a volunteer driver, please reply to CareNet@whuuf.org with your name, email and phone number and a subject heading of VOLUNTEER DRIVING INTEREST
To be placed on the list, each driver candidate will need to provide evidence of a clear driving record for the last three years and consent to a basic background check. The three-year driving record can be obtained for a fee from the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles. WHUUF will reimburse that expense.
Our office can help you with both of these vetting processes.
Thanks in advance for your interest in helping out.
You can call on CareNet when you need help! CareNet services are confidential. We send out notices to the congregation only with your approval and you can get discreet help without announcements being made. Information is sometimes exchanged within the CareNet team in order to make sure we coordinate our care effectively. If we believe anyone to be a danger to themselves or others, we will take necessary steps to ensure the safety of those involved. We care about you.
