Sundries Sundays

The WHUUF Social Justice Team is promoting the following effort:

SUNDRIES SUNDAYS

From Sunday, March 3rd through Sunday, March 31st, WHUUF will be holding a series of “Sundries Sundays” where we will collect personal hygiene items for three of our local agencies that assist folks who are houseless and in need. Those three agencies are: Home Plate (a day shelter for underhoused teens), Just Compassion (a shelter for underhoused adults), and The Good Neighbor Center (a temporary family shelter).
We will collect: Shampoo, Bar Soap, Liquid Body Wash, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes (both adult and child size), Dental Floss, Deodorant, Mouthwash, Combs or Brushes in blister packs, Disposable Razors, Shaving Cream, Feminine Menstrual Hygiene items, wipes (gentle and safe for sensitive skin), Chapstick, as well as AA and AAA batteries. These items must all be new/
unopened. Most of the need is for full sized items, but there is limited need for travel sizes. A tub will be placed near the front doors at WHUUF, to make drop-off easy. All Sundays in
March!
As the saying goes, “Never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has.” (Margaret Mead).
Right now, there’s a lot going on in the world, in the US, in Oregon and in our neighborhoods – and we can’t fix it all. But we can plant/grow/bloom in small ways and do one or two small
things for those most in need.
