West Hills Coffeehouse and WHUUF present LeMuzeek, fronted by Susan LeMaster. She is a versatile vocalist who dishes up cool stylings and smoldering warmth with her formidable vocal talent. She is a mature performer who welcomes her audience into the joy of making sound. Susan has been on stage or in the audience since arriving in Portland, Oregon in 1986. Her singing began in gospel choir and moved steadily through jazz ensembles, chorale, mass choir, spontaneous inventions, folk & roll and big band. It includes also three performances at Carnegie Hall. Susan began music studies in Jazz Ensemble and Chamber Choir at Clackamas Community College in 2018. Her music studies continue at Portland State University.
Susan performs jazz standards and popular tunes in duo, trio, quartet, big bands and event settings. For us she will perform as a duo with Angie
Spinelli on the piano. With an impressive catalog of songs in her head, Susan performs the Great American Songbook, emerging jazz standards and jazzified popular songs often also encouraging the audience to sing along.

Parking Parking Parking
Good News: so many people coming on Sundays! Bad News: not enough parking. We have finally gotten to that time post-pandemic when parking has become a challenge again! A limited survey of experienced WHUUFers has offered these tips:
When coming to services or special events, limit yourself to one car per family.
Try to carpool.
Walk, bike, rollerblade here/take public transportation/take a car hire.
Get here early. Those facing mobility challenges should plan to arrive no later than 10 – 10:15am for services.
Park offsite on Washington Drive or other side streets in the area.
If you have good suggestions on how we can improve the parking situation or want to work on a “Parking Ministry,” please contact the office at admin@whuuf.org.

Seeking Hosts to Welcome Folks on Sundays!
WHUUF is looking for Hosts for Sunday morning services. If you’re new, it’s a great way to meet people. And if you’re a longtime member, it’s a lot of fun to be able to welcome new folks and old friends alike!
We offer training and we’ll pair you up with a co-host. Plus, it’s a quick job! Hosting duties begin at about 10:10am and conclude when the service ends and most attendees have left the Sanctuary. Easy and fun! For more info, please contact Hilary Greenebaum.
Get Connected! Get Involved!
Want to help make WHUUF happen – and build friendships while you serve others? Small groups and committees are where the action is! Keep reading – you’ll find several groups looking for members! You can find a full list of WHUUF’s small groups and committees online.
Bring Shelf Stable food in to help with food insecurity in our area
Shelf Stable Food Collection back at WHUUF! BC (Before Covid), we had a long-time tradition of placing a container in the WHUUF foyer, where shelf stable food was collected, and later donated to local agencies.
We’re starting that up again, so if you happen to be in your pantry and see too many cans of something – or, you are at the store and see one heck of a deal on something you don’t normally buy, think of the Collection at WHUUF! This will be on ongoing effort, rather than a big push. Food Insecurity will, sadly, always be around …. and so will our collection bin. Good choices are beans, rice, packaged rice or potato dishes, peanut butter, jelly/jam, canned fruits and veggies, pastas, canned soups and chili.
Today, Rev. Tracy’s last service before her Sabbatical, we’ll celebrate our diverse community with flowers, music and joy! Please bring flowers from wherever you might find them to share.
We have two Audio Assist aids that are connected directly to our AV tools and that can help you hear more of each service! If you’re interested, check in with Jim (in the back corner at the big audio console) before service to get set up with a system.
