What the Interconnection Asks of Us

We are part of an interconnected web of life, but belonging asks something of us. It asks us to let ourselves be known, to admit when we need help, to receive what others have to offer, and to trust that we have gifts worth giving. We cannot participate in the web if we insist on being self-sufficient or on identifing with a sense unworthiness. Spiritual life invites us into a different way of being: vulnerable enough to need one another and worthy enough to share our gifts.
