On Being American in 2026

Join WHUUF’s former minister in an exploration of what it might mean to be a patriotic American during this troubled time in our nation’s history.

Rev. Sarah Schuur keeps her home office in Portland, Oregon, where she lives with her husband and their cat. They have two grown children and one grandchild. Sarah likes all kinds of music, from classical to grunge. She enjoys cooking and walks in the neighborhood. She works out at the gym at least twice a week, but doesn’t really enjoy that. Rev. Sarah was the first minister to be called to serve at WHUUF and served in that role for four years from 2012 – 2016. She is now retired from her work at the Unitarian Universalist Association where she supported congregations all over the Pacific Western Region.
