This spring, the WHUUF Choristers are excited to be lifting their voices in collaboration with First Unitarian Church of Portland’s Music Director, DeReau Farrar, who brings his knowledge, perspective and love of gospel and black music traditions to share with us. How are DeReau and other black leaders and musicians in our association educating UU congregations and enriching our spiritual practices? What are the deeper lessons we can learn from this music, particularly in regard to our monthly theme of Resistance? Expect a powerful and uplifting service of music and learning, and a chance to add your voices to some terrific hymns you may have never heard. We hope to see you there!
