Join with other WHUUF parents for a monthly support group to discuss our parenting wins and struggles in a supportive environment. Let’s learn from each other how we can live our values through raising our children.

Group Purpose:

To support one another in our efforts to foster healthy connection with our children and one another.

Group Goals:

– Fostering healthy attachment with our children that we may collaborate with them in their growth and learning rather than just modify behaviors using authoratarian punishments to obtain desired behaviors.

– Recognizing our children’s behaviors as communication expressing a need rather than ascribing negative values to our children’s character such as “manipulative” or “bad”.

– Respecting our children’s autonomy.  Our children are whole entire complete people with their own value and are entitled to their own feelings, their own goals, and their own ideas.

– Nurturing our children’s humanity through modeling empathy.

– Rejecting strategies that use punishment, shame, isolation, threats, fear, or violence of any kind, including physical, emotional, or psychological.

– Guiding and helping our children through their struggles using collaborative strategies and problem solving whenever it is safe to do so.
