Outdoor Art, Nature and Spirituality Workshop

Facilitated by Ann Olson (artist, UU Spiritual Director, Life Coach) and the Rev. Connie Yost (art lover, UU minister, writer, activist)

Come experience nature, community and your inner wisdom in this special place.

The workshop includes an introduction with a “forest bathing” stroll through the Water Garden area, a period for participants to gather materials to fashion into a nature sculpture, a reflection and writing period, and lastly, a time for participants to view all of the art pieces and let the artists talk about their work.

Open to participants ages 12 and up (youth must be accompanied and supervised by a parent). Wheelchair accessible. Bring your own water and snacks. All “art materials” will be found onsite and left to return to nature. No pets allowed. Let us know if you would like to carpool.

Fernhill Wetlands’ main public area was designed by internationally renowned landscape architect Hoichi Kurisu who is acclaimed for creating healing gardens, designing water features, arched bridges, and garden areas for beauty and solace.

As soon as you drive into the parking lot you know that you are in a place that is special.

Additionally, the city of Forest Grove turned Fernhill Wetlands into a water treatment facility in which their gray water is funneled through the wetlands and released back into the Tualatin River nearby.
