This Chorister service will center around the “Three Winter Songs” by Trent Worthington – lush, evocative, and sometimes whimsical settings of poems by Sara Teasdale. Readings and a healthy serving of traditional songs and hymns will round out our homage to the holiday season.
Buddhists believe suffering is caused partially by our resistance to change. How does this change our perspective and response to suffering?
Join the Choristers as we celebrate the season! Even during a pandemic, we all have musical and other holiday traditions that we cherish.
We will celebrate the solstice in story, reflection and song.
Please come and enjoy the Choristers, WHUUF’s choir, as they share a short concert. Eclectic selections include music from composers Ralph Van Williams, Matthew Harris, and Kim Andre, as well as pop selections made famous by the Pentatonix and from the new musical, “The Greatest Showman.”
Enjoy our adult choir directed by Melanie Madigan and accompanied by Ben Millstein. You’ll hear current popular songs and some golden oldies. Selections by composers Irving Berlin, Harry Belafonte, Naomi LaViolette (PDX composer) and Alan Silverstri as well as arrangers Mark Hayes, Robert Sterling, Peter Wilhousky and Neil Ginsberg will guarantee something for everyone!
Once again, Director Melanie Madigan will lead our choir in celebrating the season of renewal with music that lifts our hearts.
