Ally Training for Supporting Folks Dealing With ICE: December 9th. Registration is open.

Training, Safety, And Rights Education

A major part of our work includes making sure residents and allies have accurate, practical information about safety planning, rights, and how to support neighbors.

On December 9, I’m joining mayors and city councilors across the metro area for a regional training. This is for allies who want to learn how to support neighbors impacted by ICE detentions and enforcement activity. It is not intended for individuals who are directly targeted by ICE.

Created by Centro Cultural, Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition (PIRC), and the ACLU of Oregon, this training will include:

  • Know Your Rights guidance

  • Authoritarianism 101

  • How to Record and Report Suspected ICE Activity

  • Practical allyship strategies and safety information

It will take place in person and will be livestreamed to viewing sites across the metro region, thanks to support from mayors in multiple cities.

To protect participants and ensure proper routing, registration is required. Locations will be shared directly with confirmed registrants.

This training is free, with an optional donation to support partner organizations (ACLU of Oregon, Centro Cultural, PIRC), which supports families impacted by ICE detention.
