WHUUF Strategic Plan 

Goal 1: Welcome more members into our congregation.

• Objective 1: Study the adequacy of existing spaces to support on-site events for a larger congregation.
• Objective 2: Evaluate the advantages and obstacles of moving to two services per week and determine if and when the overflow in Forest Hall is either outgrown or is deemed less attractive than holding two services.
• Objective 3: Design a plan to relieve parking congestion on Sunday mornings.

Goal 2: Attract, Engage and Retain Members

• Objective 1: Seamlessly integrate newcomers into our congregation.
• Objective 2: Enhance the ways in which we engage current members and friends in meaningful congregational work and activities at WHUUF.
• Objective 3: Regularly survey congregants in areas that will be helpful to WHUUF’s leadership in their planning.

Goal 3: Become more visible and known in the wider community through activities promoting UU values and principles.

• Objective 1: Become more visible in the Portland community once we have the capacity to have more congregants attend our Sunday service(s) [two services or a larger meeting space]
• Objective 2: As the congregation grows, continue to increase opportunities for congregants to engage in social justice activities. 
• Objective 3: Becoming more visible and known in the community at large invites retribution and increases risk. Determine and implement new safety policies and procedures.

Goal 4: Provide the staff and volunteer support needed to carry out the Mission and Vision of this congregation.

• Objective 1: Assess Staffing Needs and Resources Yearly.
• Objective 2: Each year for each paid staff member, review their Job Descriptions, write Performance Reviews and create Professional Development Plans.
