Our UU principles affirm the inherent worth and dignity of all, yet much of the US workforce is made up of workers who are excluded from national labor laws. Rev. Connie Yost, founder and coordinator of Friends Stay Warm, a nonprofit ministry dedicated to supporting low-wage workers through utility assistance and advocacy, will help us learn how (in the words of Dorothy Day) to “bring about a revolution of the heart, a revolution which has to start with each one of us.”
