Caring for each other at WHUUF ~ The CareNet Program

Part of what we do as a community is look out for each other. We all need a little help now and then. Sometimes it is as simple as a ride to WHUUF. Sometimes it is as complex as helping you though a difficult life transition, like divorce or the death of a loved one. Here at WHUUF, we will do our best to be there for our members when you need us through the CareNet program. CareNet team members can be contacted through the office.

The program includes:

~ CareNet  Communicators– You have a need and you don’t know who to reach out to? Perhaps you want to let the community of WHUUF know it is time to swing into action with food, visits, a helping hand, or good wishes. We have a rotating team of CareNet Communicators. The best way to get in touch with them is to email carenet@whuuf.org.

~ Touchpoint Referrals– Sometimes you need the help of professionals. We have social worker volunteers who can advise WHUUF community members how to access the help they need from local agencies and counselors, incuding resources for elders. Contact the church office at admin at whuuf.org to be put in touch with our volunteers.

~ Conflict Resolution – Interpersonal conflicts can pull the energy from our Fellowship and keep us from working well together. A member who is a psychologist volunteers to help facilitate meetings between folks at WHUUF who are in conflict with each other. A retired Family Specialist can also help with this kind of mediation. Contact either carenet@whuuf.org or admin@whuuf.org to be put in touch with our mediation team.

~ Elder Ministry –  We like to keep an eye on our honored elders, providing  transportation and extra help when needed.

You can call on CareNet when you need help!  CareNet services are confidential. We send out notices to the congregation only with your approval and you can get discreet help without announcements being made. Information is sometimes exchanged within the CareNet team in order to make sure we coordinate our care effectively. If we believe anyone to be a danger to themselves or others, we will take necessary steps to ensure the safety of those involved. We care about you.
