One of the cruelist tricks of western culture has been to take the sacred out of the natural world. Most people over time and still in many cultures can sense their connection to the world. Western culture killed it, by making all things resource and something to be studied objectively as if the world does not affect us subjectively. If we are to change our relationship to the natural world, we must make the world holy and sacred once again.
